Alias Wayne’s newest release, Firebrand, is out now! The album is the latest work of renowned singer-songwriter Ranzel X Kendrick and the third under moniker Alias Wayne. The record delivers a tongue-in-cheek assessment of modern times, tackling topics ranging from climate change to the endless wars in the Middle East. The album opens with, “Radiation Town,” a rip-roaring blues rocker featuring searing guitar work and chorus that you’ll be walking around singing for weeks. Each song on the album offers something a little different, “Joan of Ottawa,” is a primarily acoustic song that paints a picture of a modern day, Canadian Joan of Arc while “The Young and the Brave” is a mellow piano ballad that lets the lyrics shine bright.

The back half of the album is equally as remarkable as the front. “Fixin to Die Rag” is a lyrical masterpiece disguised as a simple shuffle that appropriately slides into “Give Me Freedom,” a brilliantly crafted duet. Rounding out the album is “Real World,” a song we can all relate to and a song that is more poignant than ever in a year as tumultuous as this. Firebrand, is the latest feather in the cap for Kendrick who’s prolific career can speak for itself. The album demonstrates a poise and craftsmanship that can only be achieved with dedication and time. The world could use more politically charged rock and roll these days and that’s exactly what you’ll get here.
