Violin music? Not my type of music, but objectively speaking when you see the quality, one can’t help but appreciate it, and that is what this review about the latest violin single from Asher Laud represents.

I have had the privilege of reviewing many music singles, EPs, and albums, but only a few on instrumentals and many aren’t as compelling as violinists. So, I was kind of happy when Asher dropped this new single (I’ve been following him for quite some time now after a friend introduced me to his music. Writers and sound music are like five and six as it helps to overcome some of the boredom that comes with active writing.)

…And did it make sense? Oh yes, it does. Is it worth adding to my playlist while writing? Well, yes, although the tempo it’s a bit too fast for a writer who is working and listening at the same time.

Who is Asher Laub?

In case you’re wondering who is Asher Laub, well, he is an electronic musician based in NYC. He started his music career when he was just 2 years of age.

At age 13, he teamed up with the Buffalo Philharmonic, and thanks to his quality improvisation ingenuity across multiple genres, Asher has gone on to become a great soloist, one that is in high demand.

He has performed on many occasions and venues including Hammerstein Hall, Madison Square, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and his quality electronic music has to take him to four continents.

A Look at the “Girls Like You” Single

This single is a nice new music video cover of Asher’s Maroon 5’s great hit “Girls Like You.” If someone has told me that a violin cover could be this entertaining and engaging, I wouldn’t have taken it seriously. Well, now, I know better.

This cover is a super twist to anything violin. The rendition is truly awesome and it’s hard to not get engaged as Asher Laub happily strum his instrument as if his life depends on it.

There is this assertive presence in the entire mix that instantly conveys the confidence that this guy was born to do this. It is an impressive piece of skill and commanding creativity that hooks you into the singer’s paradise of song collections.

The tone of the violin is very warm, charming and pleasant to the listener. You get to feel its alluring drive headlong at the starting of the song, which allows the sweet melody to play right through to your enchanted mind as the New York-based child of the “Music of the Masters” takes you on a soulful adventure that you’ll never regret.

Honest to God, I enjoyed every bit of this version. Even if you’re staring out of Steven Wonder’s glasses, you still can tell that Asher is a gifted and accomplished violinist.

The ease at which he plays the instrument makes me look like a fool. While the melody bore his unique style and consistent tune embodiment, the overall beat flow in the progressive mix makes me think I was listening to the electronica version of Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River.”

The way Asher twirls, chill and spins all through the rendition confirms the fact that he is a born performer that would leave guests at corporate events and wedding occasions smiling like idiots.

The fact that this video was set in Las Vegas also adds glamour to the overall production. And there is this earthly, lively and joyful atmosphere to the track that makes it a great choice for everyone, irrespective of age and sex.

It is easy to tell, with just a few days of review, this “Girls Like You” music video cover has already garnered more than 3,000 views. Give it a few weeks and you would understand the stuff this Asher Laub is made off.
