Utah-born actor and musician Trey Warner has released a new E.P. titled “Zzyzx Road.” The six tracks EP is one of Trey’s incredible works as a musician. For someone interested in music, art, and films, Trey put a lot of effort into this new release, showing his dedication to hard work and success.

After kick-starting his rock music career with the rock band known as “Rated Hero” and playing at shows with famous bands like Incubus, Blink 182, Trey went solo in his 20s to pursue his dreams. Today, with this latest EP, Trey has shown that he is a good songwriter with a touch of shining melody. He has this unique sound that has continued to evolve, representing a refined step from melodies based on pop punks.

The Zzyzx Road EP tracks in perspective

The Zzyzx Road EP showcases the infusion of good pop sensibilities into classic rock formats. This album demonstrates Trey’s incredible ability to merge thought-provoking solutions and emotions to confront and overcome challenges.

The EP kicks off with the track “Zzyzx Road,” a reflective and superlative indie rock vibe that showcases Trey’s sensible and matured disposition. The initial beat is more of a staccato mix of screaming electric guitars with interwoven vocals that mirror the stable and laid-back sound flow that follows immediately. The song carries that superlative mantra that conveys gratitude and confidence for what lies ahead for the long haul. This track inspires the listeners to connect to the true and crazy history of the Zzyzx Road in California. Trey sings from the perspective and understanding of an ex-convict who is happy to have met other ex-convicts, as seen in some of the lyrics, “Pleased to meet you, feels I’m home.” It is such a powerful opener.

“Someday I’ll be Gone” is the next song that comes up on the EP. The song is beautiful with incredible and compelling lyrics. The rage is more pronounced on the vocals, and the pace on the upbeat across the overall flow is higher than the first track. Wordings like “Someday I’ll be gone, someday you will follow” indicates Trey’s belief in the stark reality of what will occur to everyone as part of the facts of everyday life. It is a beautiful and commanding song with a daring rock theme.

The next track is “Rest of My Life,” which happens to be another thrilling song with solid guitar flow. The song’s enthralling vibe drives home the writer’s emotional outburst. The rock tunes have a lamentation feel to the theme, and the songwriting is ultimately brilliant all through the song. It is an emotionally charged song that further highlights Trey’s ingenuity to drive an audience on a particular life perspective. This is one of the album’s hottest songs.

“It’s Over” is a track that delivers another fast-paced vibe, almost similar to the previous track. The beat and the vocals call for the typical action rock theme, making a wild party anthem. Once again, the guitar and keys dominate this track, and the explicit lyrics make it easily relatable. “You raised your cup, you’ve had enough” are some of the lyrics that flow along with the song’s rapid tempo flow. It’s Over is a song that bears the determination to put an end to a situation that can no longer be tolerated. It is another good song to listen to.

“She’LL Break” is the next to the last track. The guitars on this one are not overly possessive. Still, the drums and the accompanying octave guitar flowing sound at certain intervals, coupled with the traditional fast pace, make this song another great hit. The song conveys an image of self-misconception and misplaced hope. Also, it bears a sense of self-defeat and lost in a confused state of mind and perception. In short, the thematic meaning of this song evokes critical thinking from the listener’s angle. Trey’s vocals are more pronounced, clearer, and carry a wind of exasperation to round up a perfect rock song.

“S.A.D” is the last song on the album, and it didn’t disappoint either. It is about seasonal depression and how to get over it. The song’s melody is gorgeous, and you can feel Trey’s infusion of pop upbeat into the underlying rock theme sound. The momentarily pause in-between the laid-back vocals and the high-pace, energetic guitar and essential instrumentals gives this song the title of the best in the entire album. When “winter is killing me softly,” this is the type of therapeutic song that I need to play to go through the ordeal. With this song, you can find your way out of the darkness into something better. It is such a powerful and relatable song.

Overall, the Zzyzx Road EP is an excellent compilation of award-winning tracks that can give the industry’s best a run for their money in the rock genre.
