1.) Hello Tyeisha, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Well what can I honestly say about myself, I’m an individual that dares to dream and use their imagination. I believe anything can happen as long as you have faith. I always loved writing since I was a young child my imagination allowed me to escape troubles in life.
2.) What made you want to become an author?
I prayed for God to deliver me in my gift and he revealed that writing was one of my purposes in life, the other is counseling the youth.
3.) Where do you think you are making an impact?
Well I hope I’m impacting anyone that has the pleasure of reading my work.
4.) What are some things that most people don’t know about being in a creative profession such as writing?
Many people don’t realize that being creative always starts with you making your work your own. Display love for what you do, it doesn’t really matter what others think as long as you’re satisfied within yourself.
5.) Where do you see yourself professionally (or creatively) in the next 5 years?
In the next five years I plan on doing many independent films, web series, and plays while creating a name for myself in the literary world.
6.) Social media is obviously an extremely important element in today’s world, especially when it comes to business, branding, marketing, etc. With that being said, do you think an artist will be able to survive in today’s creative industry if they’re not social media savvy?
7.) What were some of the biggest challenges you encountered as an author/writer/poet putting your work out there?
My biggest challenge in becoming an author was obtaining the necessary information to be successful. I had to research a lot on my own. Not many individuals where willing in providing information.
8.) What are you most excited about at the moment?
9.) What can you tell the youth who want to pursue their dreams but don’t know where to start?
My words for the youth is dare to dream and use your imagination. Anything is possible if you just believe. Never give up on your dream no matter what.
10.) Any last words or final thoughts?
Thanks for taking the time to interview me! Great things are in the making for you. Everything starts with a dream.
