We’re in the internet age, basically a new era where possibilities are limitless.  This is the best time for artists’ to take their career into their own hands.  A musician and/or band doesn’t necessarily need to depend on a major record label to have a successful career in the music industry.  There are many independent musicians’ all over the world who are very successful in their career and make a great living doing what they love to do.

In order to make it, you just need the hunger, the drive, the determination, and the right tools.  Once you have internet access, you have the power to do what you want without major label interference.  If you want to record your own music without going to a recording studio, you can buy music recording software and record your own music on your own time.  With a decent PC or MAC and the recording software (there are many options), you can record music without having to worry about paying for studio time.  You can learn to produce your own beats or you can network online and find producers who sell beats for decent prices.  Most people do music as a hobby or a career are aware of this, but I just wanted to reiterate how self-sufficient an artist can be in this day and age.

If you or someone else you know has the Adobe Creative Suite , then marketing and promotion materials such as flyers, posters, album covers, etc. can be made.  You can promote on or offline.  There are many social networks and many webhosting sites where you can get your own website hosted.  Your website and social networks can have MP3s of your music on there for people to easily listen to.  As far as videos are concerned, you can make videos and put them up on YouTube easily; all you need is a YouTube account, which is free.

I can go on and on about the amount of possibilites available when it comes to how to go about building your independent music career, but my point is, you can take matters into your own hands.  Many people are doing this.  Once you have internet access and you have enough web-savvy, then building a successful independent music career in it’s early, basic stages won’t be hard.  With that being said, I don’t want to make this seem like a cakewalk because if you want a successful and lucrative music career then it will take some hard work and dedication.  Success is measured differently by everyone so it would be up to you what you would consider to be a successful music career.  Once you have the right tools that is necessary, then the ball is in your court.

Speaking of the right tools, that’s what this website is about; providing the right tools to all the musicians/bands out there that want to build their careers to the point where they have more fans, more sales, more shows, etc.  I will be posting blogs and articles in regards to music industry trends and topics as well as informative blogs about various ways to maximize your music career.  There are plenty of sites out there that speak on various aspects of building an independent music career, but this site is solely dedicated to providing the right tools, insight, and information on the who, what, when, where, and how things need to be done in order to build the music career of your dreams.  Stay tuned…
