1.) What elements and/or characteristics made you say to yourself that you wanted to do music for a living? Who are your influences/heroes/role models?

My Dad was my biggest influence. He was a terrific guitar player and country singer. I took the stage with him when I was about eight years old and sang “I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail” and that was it for me, I was hooked. Then it would be folks like, Hank, Cash, Jones, Haggard, Twitty, and so on

2.) If you could compare yourself to an already established artist, who would that be and why? If you don’t like to compare yourself, then music-wise, what separates you from other musicians?

I don’t like to compare myself but style-wise I have been compared to George Strait.

3.) Everyone in life goes through adversity of some sort. Is there anything in your life that has any influence on the kind of songs you write? What is the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure on your path to becoming a musician?

Well being raised on a working farm certainly instilled in the understanding of what hard work was and how important it was stay true to your roots. Loosing my Dad was a very difficult time and my brother drowning in a farm pond was a huge loss. Being raised country sure has had an influence

4.) How do you prepare yourself to write certain songs? What is your song-writing and recording process?

Not sure there is really a preparation. To me it is just living life and ideas come from that.

5.) Unfortunately the music industry is full of talented individuals who just don’t get any recognition for their talent and/or work. What do you plan to do to make sure you stand out and get noticed?

Continue doing what we do. Performing around the country and turning out real country music

6.) Would you rather be on a major label or would you rather stay independent? Why or why not? In regards to the music industry itself, do you think that the traditional music industry model as we know it is dead?

Staying independent is important to me. The industry would like us to believe traditional country is dead. However, traveling around the country we know that’s not true. In fact there is a hunger out there for traditional country music.

7.) How do you think the internet and social media affected the music industry and how musicians are able to market themselves?

Oh we understand that the internet is an extremely valuable tool for sure.

8.) Social media is obviously an extremely important element in today’s world, especially when it comes to business, branding, marketing, etc. With that being said, do you think an artist will be able to survive in today’s music industry if they’re not social media savvy?

No, it is all about social media right now. If you are not using it you are losing out.

9.) Artists who try to make music for the general public and make more money are usually seen as “sell-outs.” Do you see it that way and if so, what do you plan to do to make sure your music stays true to your brand and make a good living at the same time without having to “sell out”?

Much of country music sounds exactly the same these days. Same type of lyrics, same vocal styles, same story lines, and same production, truly sad. I have never had an interest in changing my style, it would be an insult to my roots.

10.) Professionally, where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Well we hope to still be touring, turning out great traditional country music, expanding our fan base and to continue growing our TV and radio, Traditionally Lynch brand.
