MPlugg is the DMV’s go to site for all things music. Our mission is for the area’s best musicians & local area talent to be seen, heard & hired. You can find a band or musician, search for a quality vocalist, find a music or voice teacher for lessons, find high quality audio & video technicians, find a music related job, or even post an ad to sell your equipment. MPlugg also allows all those in the local area music community to be able to network & socialize. We truly do all things music!!

1.) What made you want to get involved with the music business and what made you want to start MPlugg? Who’s involved with the creation of MPlugg?
Have been a musician for more than 20 years and wanted a site where musicians and performers would be able to network and find each other or other related services relatively easily.

2.) What services does your company provide for an artist that would ensure that an artist is able to have a successful career in the music industry?
The opportunity to be seen and heard by people drawn to the site searching for talent.

3.) What makes MPlugg different from all of the other musician network platforms out there?
We have not only the classifieds component, but also the social networking component. We also allow users to post blogs.

4.) Unfortunately the music industry is full of talented individuals who just don’t get any recognition for their talent and/or work. Could this be due to bad music or a lack of bad marketing or a combination of both?
I think this is due to both, and in addition, I also think timing plays a huge part. Oftentimes, musicians just need to be in the right place at the right time.

5.) Right now MPlugg is described as “DC & Baltimore’s Music Community for Musicians, Bands, and Local Area Talent” but at some point will MPlugg expand and cater to talent outside of the DMV?
Absolutely!  The goal is for the site to be a platform that musicians from across the country to use.

6.) Do you think that the traditional music industry model as we know it is dead? Why or why not?
I don’t think it is dead, but is slowly dying. The emergence of using the Internet to download music has made it difficult for artists to really profit off of their music.

7.) How do you think the internet and social media affected the music industry and how musicians are able to market themselves?
I think it has allowed for more exposure as well as a vehicle for musicians to interact with their fans.

8.) Social media is obviously an extremely important element in today’s world, especially when it comes to business, branding, marketing, etc. With that being said, do you think an artist will be able to survive in today’s entertainment industry if they’re not social media savvy?

Absolutely not.

9.) How do you plan to make sure your company stays at the forefront of helping artists market their music and build a self-sustaining career in today’s music industry?
By keeping the MPlugg brand at the forefront of those searching for musical talent.

10.) Anything we need to look forward to from MPlugg in the future? Any last words or thoughts?
We plan to be the go-to site for local area talent to be seen, heard and hired.
