Leader of the “Joel Band” Žygimantas Isokas releases his debut music video

In 2013, young, creative students of ISM university started to jam and formed music band “Joel Band”. Founder and one of the leaders of the group Žygimantas Isokas is releasing his first music video making cover of the song “Seaside” by “The Kooks”.

Music always had an important role in my life helping to express myself. It all started in childhood by singing in the vocal jazz ensemble for kids by A. Novikas. Later I started learning in music school, where I finished full courses of keyboard and classic/electric guitar. I’ve met vocalist J. Dučinskas in the Simonas Daukantas gymnasium, with whom we have started a band and performed in a variety of school and city events, music contests. In the 11th grade of gymnasium I was noticed as a musician and got a chance to participate in the commercial music event “Rock Opera”, annually organized by students of Vilnius University. After successful audition, I have joined the rhythm group as the lead guitar. In my second year of studies at the ISM university, I was offered a position of lead rhythm group manager of VU “Rock Opera” – says Žygimantas.

During first months of studies, I have created “ISM band” and all members of the group were ISM students. We had performed inside and outside the university. Also we jammed, improved music skills, performed in different events and earned trust of famous Lithuanian event hosts and organizers. When we have decided to work with the manager V. Šuško, the band was renamed to „Joel“. Later we have started to collaborate with the entrepreneur and leader of „VMG“ Alfas Ivanauskas and his team. We have performed in their highlight event of the year – „Baltic Culinary Awards“ where we shared the stage with the top Lithuanian artists Monique and Jazzu. Also we have performed in the first and second birthday celebrations of famous Lithuanian magazine „IKONA“, DNB, Telia, Tesonet and other events as well as celebrations of various cities and towns. During this period we have met many wonderful musicians, event organizers and hosts, earned live performance experience. Now, we are creating a schedule for 2020 summer season and constantly improving our quality! I‘m happy, that the vocalist of our band J. Mažeika participates in the popular singing contest and TV show „The Voice Lithuania“ and I wish him best of luck! – Says Žygimantas.

Despite that I have had an opportunity to study in different continents and finished my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, I have returned to hometown Vilnius and decided to continue following my passion – music. Now, I’m being coached by vocal professionals and can’t wait to premiere my very first music video, an acoustic cover of the song “Seaside”. Take a listen! – says Žygimantas.
